Q: Can your organization help me with my doctor, hospital, or utility bills?
A: No. The Fund is only available for breast cancer related needs.

Q: What expenses will the Fund cover?
A: The Fund will provide financial assistance for the purchase of prescribed breast cancer medications that exceed insurance coverage, Breast Prostheses, Wigs and other related items such as Lymphodema Sleeves/Gauntlets.

Q: Am I eligible for this program if I live anywhere in New Jersey?
A: No. The program is only available to those clients who reside, work or are under the care of a physician in Atlantic or Cape May counties, New Jersey, Lower Ocean or Eastern Cumberland counties*, New Jersey.
(*living within a 30 mile distance from the Atlantic City airport)

Q: If the Fund helps me with my breast cancer prescriptions, can I use it later for other breast cancer needs, such as bras and prostheses?
A: Yes. No new application is needed, just a phone call to the Shirley Mae voicemail (609-822-7172) for approval and referral.

Q: How long will it take before I know if I am approved to receive assistance from the Fund?
A: We understand that time is important, so all approvals take no more than 2 weeks, in many cases you will be notified within a few days.

Q: Can I go anywhere for my wig/bra/prosthesis?
A: No. You will be directed to an approved vendor who will work with you and the Fund to take care of your needs.

Q: How many wigs/bras/prosthesis can I purchase through the Fund?
A: This is determined upon individual needs.

Q: Do I need to pay for my breast cancer medications and then get reimbursed?
A: No. You must use an approved Pharmacy. The Pharmacy will submit the invoices and the Fund will reimburse the vendor directly.

Q. Will you share my information with anyone else?
A. No. We will not share or sell any of your information. All information provided to us is kept private.
